The Asamo of Akure Kingdom, High Chief Rotimi Fasae today prayed for peace just as he enjoined the people to continue to go about their business in their usual orderly manner ahead of the coming elections in the state.
In a chat with journalists during the annual festival at his palace in Akure, High Chief Fasae observed that Ondo State has enjoyed absolute peace and that the significance of the annual Omojao Festival is to pray for the community to continue to enjoy peace.
According to him, the festival heralds the new year and the beginning of the new yam season which is now open to all members of the public.
While charging the people to continue to maintain peace before, during and after the coming elections, High Chief Fasae urged them to go out and perform their civic duties and to also guard their votes in order to ensure that it counts.
Also in attendance were other prominent high chiefs in the community.
