COVID-19: DEJI’S WIFE DISTRIBUTES RELIEF MATERIALS

The wife of the Deji of Akure Kingdom, Oba Aladetoyinbo Ogunlade Aladelusi, Olori Funmilayo Aladetoyinbo had distributed palliative items to over 300 less privilege residents of Alayere Community in Akure.

The palliative material which was eight hundred and fifty thousand naira included rice, tomato paste, salt, indomie and maggi was distributed through her QTKO foundation.

The gesture is part of the move by the wife of the foremost traditional ruler to alleviate the suffering of the people of the area especially with the attendant effect of sit at home directives of the state government.

I can share the pain of our people at this time. You can see that hunger is ravaging the land, hence, the need to support our women, widow and those who are less privileged, Olori Funmi said.

She equally used the avenue to remind the people of Alayere community on the need to maintain personal hygiene and regular washing of their hands with soap and water if they could not afford to buy hand sanitizer.

Olori Funmilayo also called on the government to speed up action on the provision of palliatives for the people in order to cushion the effect of the operation sit at home.

We don’t want a spread of this deadly covid-19 virus and we appreciate the government efforts at curtailing it.

However, we must avoid anything that could lead to civil disobedience because there is hunger in the land.

In his own reaction, the Olu of Alayere Chief Adeniran Aladetoyinbo thanked Olori Funmilayo for the kind gesture and for putting smile on the face of the people at a time when they were already feeling dejected.

We want to call on other Nigerians to emulate this and salvage the situation which the country now find itself.

Olori Funmilayo who thanked her husband for the support describe him as a man who is always willing to support the less privileged. My husband always want to wipe away tears, that’s what he enjoys doing, the Olori said.

She also promised to sustain this gesture in support of the masses and the downtrodden through her foundation.
