Endsars: How Akure Politician, Oyeleye Fasua Escaped Attack

In the heat of the ENDSARS protest, Prince Oyeleye Fasua has recounted how he narrowly escaped being killed along Ijare Road Akure on Wednesday by a group of protesters.

Prince Fasua who said like other road users, he ran to the protesters to plead with them to grant him access along the road; a request which was met with stiff opposition and chants of ‘Fasua Ole, you collected money to support Aketi against Jegede”, rented the air.

“As they moved towards me, I pulled back in reverse for about 500 metres, to avoid accident and then I jumped down and started running while they started running after me throwing stones. I was lucky to get an okada rider who took me away”, he further recounts saying it was some of his old students who witnessed the episode that prevented them from burning down his car.

” It was the ex-students who later came to collect my car keys in my house and brought it home”. He narrated saying his house along Aule road was later surrounded at night by not less than 50 hoodlums who kept chanting “Fasua, you are a bastard. You sold your birth right to Akeredolu. It took the tenants hours of pleading and persuasion to prevent them from burning my property”, he said.

While thanking God for saving his life, Prince Fasua pleaded with the good people of Akure most especially the youths to give peace a chance. “We don’t need to fight ourselves, we all have different roles to play for the development of Akure and Ondo State at large”, he stressed

Also speaking, his wife said she had to rush the School proprietor to a nearby clinic for medical attention, because his blood pressure shoot up immediately.
