FEDPOLEL Matriculates Over 600 Freshmen Into Full Time Programmes


The Federal Polytechnic, Ile- Oluji today matriculated no fewer than 600 freshmen into its 2019/ 2020 Full time academic programmes during the 4th Matriculation Ceremony held at the twin auditorium of the institution’s permanent site, Ile-Oluji.

Addressing the gathering, the Rector of the institution, Prof. Adedayo Fasakin said the ceremony is important in the academic circle because it symbolizes the official admission of freshmen into the culture and history of an institution after a rigorous admission and documentation processes.

Prof. Fasakin who urged the students to build a more enduring structure on the foundation being laid during the ceremony, further admonished the students to be honour bound to perform their responsibilities as the institution will not condone any form of indiscipline in the form of examination malpractices, sexual harassment, cultism, drug abuse among other vices.

“I therefore advise you to abide by the rules and regulations of this institution. There is an ambience of freedom in Tertiary institutions but unbridled freedom is a utopia that is unobtainable anywhere.

Even though the Polytechnic is relatively young, we have worked hard to ensure that we provide a productive and conducive learning environment that will ascertain your success in this institution”, he stressed just as he urged the students to take advantage of the institution’s skill acquisition programmes to be better prepared for the employment world.

Prof. Fasakin while congratulating the students, commended other principal officers of the institution for being wonderful partners in building an enduring institution of learning.

The highpoint of the ceremony is the administration of oath on the matriculants by the Registrar of the institution, Mr. Felix Adetula and as well the official declaration of the freshmen as bonafide students of the institution by the Rector.
