Meet Arole – Oba Oluwatoyin OLUWASOLA AFOLABI, Ekiti Governorship Hopeful

Arole – Oba Oluwatoyin OLUWASOLA AFOLABI was born to a modest family of Pa and Madam Afolabi on March 13th 1966 at Ayetoro Ekiti in Ido Osi local government area of Ekiti State. He had his elementary education at S.D.A primary school Ayetoro Ekiti. Following the completion of his primary school education, he later proceeded to one of the best available Secondary Schools around which was Ekiti Parapo College, Ido Ekiti (1978 -1983.). He later gained admission to the Polytechnic, Ibadan where he graduated with a National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with Upper-Credit ( 1984- 86) and B.S.E In Mechanical Technology from

Petroleum Training Institute with Second Class Upper (1989-91) respectively.

He had other professional qualifications in and outside the country in engineering and other disciplines. He worked in the oil industry as a VCST – NNPC Pipeline and Depot Construction project Phase III, between 1992 and 1995, before he relocated to the United State of America to pursue a new adventure, career and to also further his study of Nursing at University of Texas Arlington (2002-2006). He graduated with BSN in 2006 and passed his REGISTERED NURSE Exam in flying color in 2007. He had a Texas Index for level effort (TILE) to resources utilization group (RUG);

LEADERSHIP QUALITIES
He was deputy speaker of petroleum training institute, Efurum Warri 1991, PR coordinator, Arlington National Student Association 2006, Vice President Black Students, 2006 and a very prominent member of Ekiti group in the United State of America.

PHILANTHROPIC IMPACT
His PHILANTHROPIC activities cut across international and national boundaries. He has affected life in and outside the shores of Nigeria and part of his philanthropic activities in Ekiti State include scholarship scheme for students in secondary and tertiary institutions in Ayetoro which was later extended to some towns in Ido Osi,Ilejemeje and Oye local government area of Ekiti State.

He has organized several empowerment programme for women and youth in some towns in Ekiti state and supported government initiative during COVID 19 by giving palliatives to individuals, groups and communities. He is a generous giver especially to widows and indigent in the society.

His philosophy in life is to champion and empower others most especially youths and women thereby making life comfortable for rural dwellers and promoting cultural heritage by creating enabling environment for business and economic development of the society.

He believes in education at all level and is committed to encouragement of small scale and medium trades,opening of rural roads,health and social welfare and improved security network.

He was conferred with chieftancy tittle together with his wife across Yoruba towns. Chief and Chief Mrs Toyin Afolabi was recently conferred with chieftancy title at Ewu in Ilejemeje local government area and Oloje in Oye local government area as Arole Oba and Yeye Oba ABA OBA AND YEYELORI respectively.

He is a family man married and blessed with children.
