Ondo 2024: Hon Funmiilayo Jenyo Ataunoko Emerges Candidate of National Rescue Movement
Hon Funmiilayo Jenyo Ataunoko today, Thursday 25th April , 2024 emerged the candidate of National Rescue Movement(NRM) in Ondo State during the primary election of the party held in Akure, the Ondo State capital.
His emergence came shortly after he got 2000 votes from delegates from across the 18 local government areas of the state to defeat his opponent, Hon. Kunle Akosile who got only 9 votes.
Speaking shortly after his emergence, NRM State Flag Bearer, Hon. Jenyo said he will work assiduously to defeat the ruling party as there is no room for incumbency in the state.
Hon. Jenyo who was one of the SAs to former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko further assured that the NRM in the state is well positioned to bring succour to the people of Ondo State.
While particularly thanking God for the opportunity, he also appreciated the leadership of the party both at the national and state level as well as members for reposing trust in him having also contested under the platform for the governorship seat in 2020.
Describing the election as peaceful and fair, Hon. Jenyo thanked his opponent , Hon. Akosile for his spirit of sportsmanship.
He further admonish the people of Ondo State to vote the right candidate in the November polls so that the state can witness massive development.
In a chat with newsmen shortly after the exercise, Hon. Akosile expressed congratulations to Hon. Jenyo just as he assured that he is ready to work with him for the success of the party at the November polls
