Ondo NCWS Joins 16 Days Activism Against Gender Based Violence

In line with the 2020 UNiTE campaign anniversary with the theme: “Orange the World: Fund, Respond, Prevent, Collect”; a global campaign to end sexual and gender based violence, the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS), Ondo State chapter has lend its voice to the struggle saying as an umbrella body for women, the group says ‘No’ to violence against women and the girl child.

In a statement made public to media men, the State President of the Association, Mrs. Jumoke Aborode said it is high time women most especially rural women began to speak up in the face of abuse as the Ondo State government is taking steps to discourage the trend in the state.

Mrs. Aborode who said with the introduction of the Sexual and Gender Based Violence ( SGBV) Emergency Response Center and the launch of the SGBV Yellow Card, there is hope of justice for women and girls who fall victim to such abuse

While also enjoining women not to silently give approval to such abuse by not speaking up, Mrs. Aborode said NCWS as a body condemns in totality, all forms of violence against women and the girl child.
