The team led by the state chairman of PSN, Dr. Abiodun Ayeku said the gesture was conceptualized by members of the society in order to support the government in the fight against the diseases.
According to him, as members of the larger society, it is their duty to contribute their own quota, a project which had gulped a whooping sum of N3.2million as the Society had earlier distributed hand sanitizers and gloves to the general public and also to front line health workers at the Federal Medical Centre, Owo.
“We came together and said we have to give support to the government as this pandemic is ravaging the whole world. We got 10 cartons of hand gloves which contains 10,000 pieces and we came together as professionals and produced sanitizers and we are donating 500 bottle as well to help out the state health team”, he added.
While urging members of the society to continue to take precautionary measures by treating every patient as a suspected case of COVID-19 as there are no personal preventive equipments on ground, Dr. Ayeku restated the commitment of its members to continually provide accurate information to the public towards stopping the spread of the virus.
