Sen. Akinyelure Gives Account Of Stewardship, Says Ondo People Should Vote Ranking Senators, Reps For Impact…

The Senator representing Ondo Central Senatorial district, Dr Ayo Akinyelure popularly known as “Allover” on Saturday, April 3rd reeled out his first abridged report in 18 months in office saying he has to the best of his ability prioritize empowerment of his constituents by securing permanent federal appointment for over 200 unemployed graduates in the district. This he said goes a long way to complement a similar gesture during his first term in office when he secured permanent federal appointments for 496 unemployed graduates.

Sen. Akinyelure who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public petitions, made this assertion while addressing journalists during a media parley at the NUJ Press Centre, Akure saying he has also during the periods of his stewardship worked on over 50 petitions and laid reports to that the effect to the Senate.

The lawmaker who was first elected between 2011 and 2015, and re-elected in 2019 noted that since June 2019 when he returned to the Senate, he had empowered over 400 unemployed constituents through enterprise development, while palliative and empowerment materials worth millions of naira had been distributed to artisans and less privileged in Akure South, Ifedore, Ondo East, Akure North, Idanre and Ondo West local government areas.

Among his achievements include purchase of a grader to grade rural roads of over 100km of roads linking farms and rural communities free of charge and in the last 18 months sponsored seven bills and several motions to give quality representation to his people, provided portable water to over 40 communities across Ondo central.

He however advised the people of Ondo State to shun voting out their National Assembly members unnecessarily to enable them properly play the national politics as ranking members of the National Assembly.
