Senator Alasoadura Calls For Enduring Legacies As Skylight Club Honours Prominent Indigenes


The Minister of State for Niger Delta, Senator Tayo Alasoadura has said that he will continue to impact lives and contribute his quota to the development of his people rather than amass wealth for no just cause.
Sen. Alasoadura made this remarks shortly after he was presented an Award of Excellence in Outstanding Leadership yesterday by Skylight Club International at its annual Family Party held at Youth Centre, Oba Ile.
While urging the privileged few in the society to always do what they can to bring succor to those they find around them, Sen. Alasoadura said nobody will have the opportunity to take anyting to heaven and as such he would want to be remembered by his legacy.He also used the opportunity to thank the organizers for the award.
Other awardees include Secretary to the State Government, Honourable Abegunde Ifedayo, former Commissioner for Transport, Otunba Omoniyi Omodara, former Head of Service, Mrs. Kosemani Kolawole, the Oloba of Uso, Oba Ademola Olanipekun, Chief Olapade Olakunle, former President of NULGE, Dr. Olubunmi Eniayewu and Chief Alex Ajipe.
Reacting to his award, Hon. Ifedayo Abegun said as a son of the soil with the title- Otunba Omobowale I, he is indeed grateful to the organizers for deeming it fit to honour him while also assuring them of a more robust relationship.
For Chief Mrs. Kosemani Kolawole, a proud indigene of Oba- Ile, it is a gesture that will spur her to do more. Mrs. Kolawole also charged the youths of the area to embrace skill acquisition as an idle hand becomes the devil’s workshop.
The State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, who bagged award for “excellence in community and youth Development”, called on leaders to render selfless service to the people and their communities.
Hon. Saka Yusuf Ogunleye who said the ovation is loud because he is among his people urged other political leaders not to abandon their people.
Earlier in his address, the president of the Club, Skky Tayo Omodara said the club is a non political, non religious but a socio-cultural and philanthropic association which has been in the forefront galvanizing progressive efforts at developing the human capital and infrastructures in the area.
On some of the achievements of the club in recent times, Skyy Omodara said through the efforts of the club, Sen. Alasoadura renovated Oba Ile Yout Centre and that members of the club in Baltimore in July donated cash gifts to students who performed excellently in Ejioba High School.
Wile also noting that those conferred with awards were carefully selected as a result of their excellent performance in their various fields of endeaour, Skyy Omodara solicited for more supports towards its 2020 projects of making the Youth Centre a commercial hub by developing the available land into both commercial and recreational centre.
