State Matters: Ondo APC Elders Committee To Meet Party’s National Leadership, Sue For Peace

In line with their resolved to restore normalcy to Ondo State, Ondo APC Elders Committee will be meeting the National Leadership of the Party in Abuja with sole aim of discussing prevailing issues in Ondo State and proffering a lasting solution to the face-off between the State House of Assembly and the Deputy Governor of the State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

In a Communique signed by the Secretary of the Committee, Otunba Agboola Kelly in a meeting held on Monday 13th November, 2023 which was made available to the Press, the Elders resolved on several issues tailoring towards bringing lasting peace and unity to the Sunshine State.

The Elders prayed for the speedy and permanent recovery of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu SAN while asking the people of the state to resume in their prayers for quick recovery of the governor.

It could be recalled that the people of the state, stakeholders, religious and traditional leaders, party members among others were praying for the quick recovery of the governor while on Medical Vacation in Germany.

The Elders also resolved to book appointment to see the governor and pray for him saying what the governor needs most at this time is fervent and continuous Prayers from the people of the state.

They Commended the National Leadership of the party for their intervention in the face-off between the State House of Assembly and the Deputy Governor.

The Committee also told the State Assembly to stop the impeachment process against the Deputy Governor in tandem with the agreement reached with the National Leadership of the party in Abuja.

“‘As a loyal party members, the State House of Assembly should not flout the National Leadership directives of the party under any circumstances”.

Meanwhile, the Elders congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his Supreme Court victory while wishing him a successful tenure in office as he strives to establish the egalitarian Nigeria of our founding fathers.

Elders in attendance include Chief Jamiu Ekungba, Chief Mrs Jumoke Ajasin Anifowose, Engr Muyiwa Ogunleye, High Chief Barr Magnus, Aare Dr Segun Ayodele, Snr Apostle Sola Akinmejiwa, Hon Abiodun Jerome, Elder Osewole Modupe, Erelu Modupe Martin’s, Deaconess E Ajibade, Wolj Esther Ayeni Biraye, High Chief Megbontowon, Hon Femi St James, Prince Omonijo Robinson among others.
