Rotary Club of Akure-City Distributes Christmas Palliatives to 27 Indigent Widows, Widowers…
No fewer than 27 families benefited from Food Stuffs and Basic Needs gives away put together by Rotary Club of Akure-City to cushion effect of high rise in inflation and famine in the land.
Speaking at the event held on Thursday 22nd, December 2023 at the Secretariat of Prison Fellowship of Nigeria, Akure, the Ondo State capital, the President of RC Akure City in person of SP Ibitomiloye Agbede-Adeyemi PHF stated that the reason for the season is to share love among the needy and show non Rotarians that agape love still exist
She also used the occasion to particularly appreciate all members for their generous donations towards attaining one of the mandates of Rotary International which is to put smiles on the faces of the less privilege.
The climax of the event is the presentation of the food items and needs to all the beneficiaries.
The selected 25 indigent Widows and 2 Widowers were drawn across Akure South and Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State Nigeria
Also in attendance at the event is the representative of the District Governor in person of Lieutenant Governor Christabel Nnaemeka among others.
Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, one of the widowers said it was indeed a December to remember as the gesture from Rotary Club will go a long way meeting their needs this yuletide season.
