Ondo CP Identifies Youths As Responsible For Most Problems, Charges Them To Commit To Building A Safe, Productive Society…As He Bags WYDEF Life Patron, Youths Ambassador
Youths have been urged to rethink their approach to life and to strive to build a safe and better world for everyone to live in.
This charge was made by the Ondo State Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami today while playing hosts to members of Western Youth Development Forum, WYDEF who were on a familiarization visit to his office to seek ways of partnering security agencies towards building a safe and productive society.
CP Salami who said youths are responsible for most of the problems experienced in the county said their tomorrow is dependent on what they do today, thus, they must rethink their approach to wealth and get rich syndrome saying there is dignity in labour.
While noting that it is bad enough that the country has problem with bad leadership but when it is compounded by bad followership, the consequences is grave, CP Salami urged the youths to wake up and face the reality that the future of the nation is in their hands as they must explore legal and safe ways to attain their dreams and aspirations.
CP Salami however assured the group of his support saying it will partner youths in every way necessary towards building a better and safer society.
The team which was led by one of the group’s patron in Ondo State, Elder Dr. Fakolade Kayode said the visit became necessary in order to parley security agencies towards reorientating the youths who have in recent times become restive.
Elder Kayode while appreciating the CP for granting the group audience said the it is important to continue to engage the youths and re orientate them as part of efforts to change the narratives of the country.
Major highlight of the event is the conferment of Youths Ambassador and Life Patron on CP Salami by WYDEF.
Earlier, the National President of WYDEF, Prince Sunday Oyedele said the group which cut across the 6 western states of Nigeria has as its core mandate the vision to build up youths for excellence and also to challenge, re- orientate them to take their pride of place in matters that directly affects them.
