World Anti Corruption Day: Corruption, Most Dangerous Thing In Nigeria – Adeosun

The Director, Community Heritage Watch For Development Initiative, Mr Olusola Adeosun has said that corruption is the most dangerous thing in our country and has eaten deep into our system.

Adeosun who stated this in his address at the 2023 International World Anti Corruption Day, stressed that nothing can be done in Nigeria without corruption.

“The theme for this year’s international World Anti Corruption day is “UNCAC at 20; Uniting the world with Anticorruption” The SCALE project is a five year Anti corruption project on social inclusive reform initiative in Nigeria”.

He added that Globally, Nigeria was rated as 144th according to 2023 Global peace index, 37th in Africa.

He, however, called on Nigerians as well as various Anti corruption Agencies in Nigeria to put more effort to chase the evil away from our land.

“I implore you all to take proactive step to put this menace to stop. Corruption must stop in our state, try to be just, because anybody that must talk about equity must come with clean hand”.

He also urged the National Assembly to pass the necessary bills that will move the state forward.

Speaking on the political crisis in the State, Adeosun said that the CSOs has called the party to order, adding that since the President has interfered, they should follow the President’s order.

According to the CEO, the Speaking Voice, Mrs Bola Inyang, for the State to move forward, it is the responsibility of everyone to speak out and also, follow the law.

“Curbing corruption is the job of everyone, we should all work for our moral values, we should all rise up to the occasion and do the needful, so that we can leave a prosterity for our generation unborn”.

While clamoring for transparency, Inyang called on the media professionals to ask for what is right.
